Rest is not a luxury. It is a form of liberation and resistance.

In a culture and an economy — that measures our worth by our output, choosing to rest is an act of defiance. For Black communities especially, rest has too often been withheld, delayed, or treated as something to be earned rather than a basic human right.

Our bodies carry generations of exhaustion, and healing requires more than pushing through. It requires permission to stop.

This is a call to protect rest as a form of self-preservation and collective care. To disrupt grind culture. To reclaim stillness as sacred.
