When you’re in labor, it can take some time to find a position that feels right to you. You can use trial and error to try various positions.

Plus, your body often benefits from changing positions, and this can affect your baby’s position, too!

What’s your favorite laboring position?

When you're considering who you want to support you during birth, remember: Labor is not a spectator sport.

We recommend spending some time thinking about who you want to attend your birth. Here are a few tips for deciding who they should be:

🏡 If you’re giving birth at the birth center or at home, anyone present must be supportive of your out-of-hospital birth choice.

➕ Extra people in the room can mean extra time in labor.

❌ Negative attitudes could lead to negative outcomes.

👧🏽 Older children are welcome to attend your birth, but they must have a designated caretaker who can watch them, play with them, or take them out of the birth room if needed.

Feel free to give a shout-out to your support people! 💬⤵️
