The Distorting Mirror
04/05/2024
Happy and excited to let y'all know I was selected for the inaugural Film Impact Georgia feature lab for my horror script LACRUM.
About a troubled transfer student who awakes in her new high school to find she and select other students have been trapped in the school by a devious being known as Kari. They must play and beat Kari’s games before midnight in order to uncover the truth behind their sinister situation and make it out in one piece.
The development lab will take place in a cabin in the blue ridge mountains, where the writers will be mentored and supported by experienced producers to make their project a reality. I'm super excited for this opportunity and can't wait to take these lessons in LACRUM and of course the film we're developing right now into our debut feature, OTHERMOR!

Today, we're announcing the first step in the journey to our DEBUT feature film, a Scifi/Horror/Thriller provisionally titled OTHERMOR, and the team of producers that will bring this film to life. We couldn't be more excited about this group! JOINING The Distorting Mirror's Justin Solaiman and Hudson King (pictured bottom row), in clockwise order:
Madison Stenner is a director-producer who loves to shine a light on other storytellers, and her time spent in art & camera departments has allowed her to bring an inter-departmental approach to her work. Her last project she produced ("I Can't Go On") opened the 2023 Blood In the Snow festival, proving she is no stranger to horror.
Kai Maeng is an LA-based filmmaker, originally from Seoul, Korea. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Savannah College of Art and Design in 2020 and his Master of Arts in 2022. He is currently working towards getting his Association degree in Audio and Sound Production. Kai has been working on various projects from spec commercials to music videos, but his concentrations are producing and assistant directing.
Carys Glynne is a writer, actress, producer, and artist working in the independent film scene, primarily in Mississippi, Atlanta, and London.
Heather Hutton is a producer, director, writer, editor, and sculptor from Atlanta, GA, with a BS in Aerospace and an MFA in Film and Television. She grew up as a kid flyer and funded her way through aircraft maintenance school drawing and painting. Some of her aircraft restoration projects are on exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Museum. Her metal fabrication has been featured in The Walking Dead, First Man, Venom, Super Intelligence, and Jungle Cruise. She has produced and directed SAG-AFTRA feature and short films with an inspiring track record in the festival circuit.
Sara Reshamwala is a New York City- based Associate Producer with a passion for telling unique and important stories. She is a Freelance Live Editor for Variety as well as a Production Coordinator at Riverside Films, a documentary production company in NYC.
