Project South's Legal & Advocacy Director Azadeh N. Shahshahani is quoted in WABE newstory today on latest death at Stewart Detention Center in Georgia:
“It is horrifying. We are up to now four known su***des at Stewart and 14 deaths. None of these deaths, none of these su***des should have happened.”
Man dies in Georgia immigration detention center, second Georgia death in ICE custody this year Denny Adan Gonzalez, a 33-year-old man from Cuba, died at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, on Tuesday. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement Gonzalez died from a suspected su***de, and it is investigating.
