While travelling abroad, he found that there were no great solutions out there that easily taught him the languages he needed to know. Direct translations also put him in some very bad situations and he came up with a language training tool that taught users how to speak like the locals. The cofounders:

Nice little user story we got from David:
"This couple was from a small German country town with a population of 250 people. They were in Munich for a night on the town and sat next to us. Decent English but there were some gaps in communication, once triplingo surfaced both out group and them were reaching for the phone typin in the word they were trying to say. Three rounds of beers later this pic happened then they left haha."
