ALPHA PHI ALPHA FRATERNITY, INC. - ETA LAMBDA CHAPTER HOSTS 2ND ANNUAL ALPHA MERIT BADGE UNIVERSITY TO SUPPORT SCOUTS FROM UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES

Event Date: October 5th, 2024
Location: Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, GA – Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Eta Lambda Chapter is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Alpha Merit Badge University, set for October 5th, 2024, at Morehouse College in Atlanta. This one-day event is designed to empower Scouts from underserved communities by offering access to numerous merit badge classes focused on leadership, scholarship, and service.

After a successful inaugural event in 2023 with 150 Scouts, the fraternity will serve 300 Scouts this year. Alpha Merit Badge University offers merit badge classes in areas such as Citizenship in the World, Engineering, Robotics, Law, Entrepreneurship, Public Speaking, First Aid, Theater, and more. The event is led by professional men of color, who mentor Scouts and guide them through their merit badge requirements. This exposure encourages Scouts to envision greater possibilities for their futures.

In addition to the merit badge classes, the Real Talk Forum Panel, where accomplished male and female Eagle Scouts will discuss their journey and offer guidance to aspiring Eagle Scouts. The forum provides a unique opportunity for Scouts to ask questions and seek advice from those who have successfully earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
