I recently had the opportunity to visit Asante Coffee & Lounge, a Black woman-owned coffee shop in downtown OKC, and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere was welcoming, the coffee was outstanding, and the customer service was exceptional.
A special thank you to Taylor, the manager, for making the experience even better. Great leadership always shows, and Taylor's professionalism, hospitality, and passion for creating a great customer experience were evident throughout my visit.
Supporting local businesses is important. Supporting businesses that are creating community and excellence is even better.

One of the things I’ve enjoyed most since returning home to Oklahoma City is connecting with the incredible leaders who are helping shape the future of our city.
Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Sammye Craven, COO of Public Strategies. If you’re not familiar with Public Strategies, you should be. They are one of Oklahoma City’s premier organizations, making a meaningful impact across our community through leadership, innovation, and service.
Sammye embodies so many of the qualities that make great leaders stand out: excellence, humility, intelligence, and intentionality. Our conversation left me inspired and reminded me why strong leadership matters.
Another reason I’m proud to be back home in the city that raised me. Oklahoma City continues to be filled with remarkable people doing remarkable work, and I’m grateful for opportunities to learn from leaders like Sammye and the entire team at Public Strategies.

It's hard to explain what it means to be a graduate of a Frederick Douglass High School in Oklahoma City, OK, as we celebrate 135 years of existence. We also celebrate our current Principal Mr. Kevin Jones who was just awarded OKC Public Schools Secondary Principal of the Year!
A few more reasons why I'm so proud to be back in the city that raised me.
