s a different vibe that inspires me to play and write in different ways. My late father was a very wise man and my mentor, he once said “Being a musician is a blessing AND a curse”, and it’s so true. It brings me the most euphoric highs as well as some soul crushing lows. It’s my life, always has been & always will be. I often think where my life would have taken me if i’d never started playing, then i shake my head and realize that never would have happened. Call it Destiny, Fate, Kismet, i honestly feel it’s what i was born to do. I absolutely love playing live, the whole deal. Waking up with that same excitement like it’s christmas morning, restringing my guitars, packing my gear, traveling to the gig, the banter and jokes with the band in the van, the smell and vibe of an empty venue while you soundcheck, the slight jitters of anticipation before you go on stage, and of course the look on the faces in the crowd when you truly reach them with your music. It’s a feeling i can’t describe and incomparable to any other feeling i’ve experienced, whether it’s 40,000 people or just 40. To make someone happy through something you’ve created from scratch all on your own is a gift i’ll be eternally grateful for. So if you see me around, whether it’s in a venue, airport, music store or gas station, feel free to come and talk about guitars, but only if you have a few hours to spare...;)
