We recently had to bid farewell to one of our journey makers, Wilbur. While we have encountered and loved many animals over the years, and all walk with us on our journey, few have changed us for the better more than Wilbur. He came to us in 2014 and propagated us moving to a farm and officially creating Hooves Marching for Mercy.
Wilbur taught us and everyone who meet him that wild hogs are not remotely what they are made out to be. Yes, they live in a family unit, and they do protect that family. However, this is no different than any of us would be about our own families.
We can only hope that we have Wilbur the best possible life we could, and that he felt loved unconditionally. Rest in peace, our sweet boy.
If anyone would like to contribute to his final care, such is greatly appreciated. Final arrangements for Wilbur were $1,800.
