The strongest women I know are exhausted. Sometimes from loving other folks too much.

They’ve become the emergency plan for everybody else’s life. What happens when the women everyone leans on need somewhere to lean?
Week after week, in group chats and women’s circles, women quietly pay bills, raise money, send groceries, buy plane tickets, cover funerals, help women escape abuse, and fill the gaps left by families, and sometimes partners.

Nobody opens, or pays, the emotional bill that’s due for the women doing the giving.

Generosity is beautiful. Constant survival is not cute at all.

If the folks carrying everyone else never get carried themselves, eventually everyone loses.
