Makayla has spent her life grappling with a rare form of autism that rendered her essentially nonverbal. Letterboard therapy has provided her with a means to communicate, revealing a world of wonder, poetry, and brilliance that was once hidden.

Makayla’s Voice: A Letter To The World, is a short documentary that is premiering at the Slamdance Film Festival Sunday Jan 21, in Park City.
