This might be the year I start post a ridiculous number of headshots. Shout-out to this amazing shot.

The lesson that changed my photography.

This photo didn’t just happen.

It took weeks of planning.
Scouting the bowl.
Waiting for the right weather.
Knowing exactly where the skater needed to be.

Most people only ever see the final image.

But the real difference maker?
Isn’t the timing of the shutter.
It’s the planning behind it.

A lot of photographers think the best moments only come when you “just go out and shoot.”
And yeah sometimes that’s true.
But there’s another side to photography that gets overlooked:

The deliberate stuff.
The setup. The pre-visualization. The patience.
The willingness to try again tomorrow if the light isn’t right.

And that doesn’t make the photo less real.
It makes it more intentional.

If I gave you two minutes to take a photo.
And gave someone else a full day.
