I wish I had someone to point out what I couldn't see in my own talks.

I'm here to be that person for you.

Here’s a story that still makes my face flush and my stomach turn when I think about it.

In 2010, I was invited to speak at TEDActive: basically the kids' table at TED. A top-level TED event. It was a HUGE deal for me.

I was thrilled, nervous and completely blinded by ambition.

I had 4 minutes. And I had so many important, wonderful, amazing things to say.

So I crammed it all in.

I knew better. But I couldn't see it.

I walked off that stage thinking it went okay.

It didn't.

The worst part? I didn't even realize how fully I'd blown it until later. 😱

It still makes me cringe.

But that failure taught me something I'll always remember.

Every speaker has a blind spot.

Something they simply cannot see in themselves.

So over the next few weeks, I'm reviewing a small number of talks and sending back a short personalized video with exactly what I see is working and what isn’t.
