We are rooted in movement, culture and community. George Staib, founder and artistic director, is an accomplished choreographer whose work has been seen across the United States and the globe. An Armenian-born transplant to the United States, he began his dance training at the prestigious Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and now serves on faculty at Emory University in the Dance Program.
This spring, we're grateful to have spent two incredible weeks in residency at The University of Southern Mississippi - teaching, creating, and performing with students and the Hattiesburg community. 💛
Throughout this residency, George Staib - joined by Rehearsal Director Sarah Hillmer and company artists Anna Bracewell, Faith Fidgeron, and Cailan Orn - led classes and workshops, developed a new work with USM students, and shared excerpts of between dog and wolf at a public performance at Studio 522.

Board member Rosalind Staib has witnessed staibdance evolve since our inception, and become the company we are today - one that welcomes all interpretations of our work, no matter how near or far they may stray from the work's original intention.
She shares, "Anyone who comes to a staibdance performance leaves with something... because they've learned that contemporary dance can be whatever you want it to."
