Here’s a story you didn’t ask for about my 3D printed knitwear moment.
I’d been doing knitwear for a while and wanted something that would set me apart from everyone else (kinda why I pivoted to focusing solely on knitwear in the first place).
Through some digging and research, I found a manufacturer that was doing something incredible. I went for a factory tour and was completely amazed - they were 3D printing clothing in natural fibers. Sweaters, dresses, polos, t-shirts, accessories... all in cotton, cashmere, merino, you name it.
I felt like this would really take me “there.” Wherever “there” is 😅
This also became my intro into women’s clothing. For a while, everything I offered was 3D printed (except my outerwear). Made-to-order 3D printed knitwear and apparel, delivered in 7-12 days.
It was something I wished had caught on more, but I genuinely enjoyed it. It was fun, it was cool, and I got to nerd out with two things I love - tech and fashion.
Maybe I’ll revisit it, maybe not. But I do know I’ll be revisiting womenswear for the next collection, so stay tuned for that
