I would like all of my business owners to stop and read this article. Often times we find ourselves being the head of every department in our business. We end up becoming marketing, sales, finance, operations and anything else it takes to keep the doors open.

This is a sure fire way to burn yourself out as well as hurt your sales. You started the business because you were good at the core business model. That is where your skills are needed, not doing tasks you despise doing.

A few years ago I made a decision that changed the direction of my life. I finally decided to bet on me and do something I love doing. The decision to leave corporate America was a SCARY one. I was very comfortable and was progressing in my career. Although everything on the outside was great on the inside I was miserable. I didn't feel fulfilled or satisfied with what I was doing everyday.

One day I woke up and decided to do something about it. The transition took about 2 years to fully complete but I felt liberated knowing I had a plan. For those two years I worked during the day and chased my dream at night. It was exhausting but I got energy from knowing that my efforts today were getting me closer and closer to my dream. Now what I do doesn't feel like work. I love helping my clients realize their financial goals.
