🔹Site specific pain around sit bones
🔹Symptoms “pain” worsens with running, squatting, lunging, prolonged sitting, anything that requires increased hip flexion
🔹Pain pattern—“I start running and I'm in some pain but then at around 10 minutes, the pain seems to “warm-up” and decreases. But then it worsens after 30 minutes of running and when I stop running too.
🔹I feel stiff in the mornings and after resting for a long time

This is a common question that I get too often! My answer….STOP STRETCHING!🛑
When I say "stop stretching," I'm referring to times when you are dealing with a tendon issue! If you have a hamstring tendon injury, that bending forward stretch that MOST runners love to do will only further AGGRAVATE your symptoms!🙈⠀

Why? Because it only further compresses the tendon against the bone and, OUCH tendons don't like that.😫 ⠀

So what’s the first thing we tackle in the recovery process?
🔷We identify positions of compression and temporarily avoid/limit them⠀
For the next couple of weeks I’ll be diving into different tendon issues that I’ve personally dealt with AND treated other runners for as well. Up first, proximal hamstring tendinopathy!🍑
