There is something incredibly special about watching a child walk into a new school year feeling confident, prepared, and knowing that someone cares.
For many children in foster care, that feeling isn’t guaranteed.
Some are carrying the weight of uncertainty. Some have changed homes more times than they can count. Some are starting over at a brand-new school while trying to make sense of everything else changing around them. A backpack, new school supplies, and a day filled with laughter may seem like small things—but to a child in foster care, they can mean the world.
As President of the Coweta County Foster Parent Association and Hope Revisited, I have the privilege of helping organize our annual Back-to-School Bash. This year, our foster families will enjoy a pool party, lunch, a school supply giveaway, lots of sweet treats, and an incredible surprise from one of our amazing local businesses. We can’t wait to celebrate these incredible kids before they head back to the classroom.
But we need your help.
We’ve created an Amazon Wish List filled with items in every price range. Whether you can give $5 or $50, every single purchase goes directly toward making this event special and helping foster children begin the school year feeling seen, valued, and loved.
If you’ve ever wondered how you could make a difference, this is it.
You may never meet the child who receives the backpack you purchased. You may never see the smile when they pick out their school supplies or the excitement they feel knowing they have something brand new that’s just theirs. But I promise you—they will know someone cared enough to make their day a little brighter.
