There’s nothing quite like watching a custom home design come to life, especially when it’s carved into the rugged, rolling topography of Hiawassee, Georgia. https://www.reynard.design/rivendell-hiawassee-ga
Designed by architect James Knight, this 2,246-square-foot Modern Farmhouse was built to integrate with its wooded 1.03-acre lot while serving up serious high-end comfort.
What's to love:
📐 Smart Site Planning: Tailored specifically for steep-slope mountain terrain and optimized solar orientation.
🪵 Mixed Exterior Textures: A striking blend of crisp white vertical board-and-batten, classic horizontal siding, and a massive stacked stone chimney that perfectly grounds the home.
🎨 Playful Interior Details: Clean, contemporary lines meet moments of bold personality—including a custom geometric staircase railing, a vibrant teal kitchen island, a gorgeous custom-painted lavender vanity, and a mischievous fox 🦊 on the newel post guarding the staircase.
Whether you're building overlooking Lake Chatuge or tucked away in the trees of Towns County, a custom home requires a clear roadmap. We use full conceptual design and 3D "digital twin" rendering to make sure your vision is flawless before breaking ground. 🛠️📐
From Pinterest Board to Mountain Reality
Translating a folder full of inspiration photos into a cohesive, functional architectural design can often be one of the biggest challenges in the home-building process. In this video, our clients Phil and Lindsay share their experience designing "Sweetwater," a custom short-term rental property in Hayesville, North Carolina, with the Reynard Architectural Designs team.
The Custom Design Experience
Capturing the Vision: Phil and Lindsay's design journey started the way many do—with a "dump" of saved Pinterest and Instagram photos. They had a clear aesthetic in mind but needed help articulating it into a practical floor plan.
Getting It Right the First Time: Instead of putting the clients through countless rounds of frustrating revisions to get on the same page, Phil notes that our team was able to translate their exact ideas and bring their vision to life on the very first 3D architectural rendering.
A Streamlined Process: As Lindsay points out, the Reynard team excels at taking scattered concepts and turning them into the exact visuals a client has been dreaming of. It's a testament to how crucial it is to partner with an architect who truly listens.
In the competitive world of short-term rentals, "ordinary" is the enemy of occupancy. At Reynard Architectural Designs, we specialize in creating one-of-a-kind vacation retreats with "scroll-stopping" aesthetics that are built for high-yield returns.
