Kalil sought to express himself and his passion for songwriting, poetry and music, and while in High School, he and a few friends formed the group Ima’ge. The group had the elements of a classic R&B group and gained some local success; however, something was missing. Eventually, Kalil ROS took a break from the group. He decided to go solo under the moniker Shadow, which represents his reflection of self, reflection of God within’. Feeling the presence of God speaking to him as a messenger of the Word, Kalil ROS had a vision and an awakening within himself, which was expressed through the conscious tone of his lyrics. Being a rapper spreading the Word of God became his second gift. He would transition totally into inspirational Hip Hop where he could focus delivering God’s Word and being the artist that he loves to be. Kalil ROS says writing material is effortless now that he is filled with the Holy Spirit. With intense lyrical phrasing, soulful hooks and most important a message – Kalil ROS will leave you refreshed and inspired.
