I’ve tried a whole lotta things. Even produced a sweet lil evening of live music a few years back. My long time pal Jay Kirkland opened up the night at Tin Roof and closed it down. Now ol buddy Jay is running for State Rep up in Hall County. I’m about as proud as I can be.
When you start trying to tell a story about a place with a 912 area code, you reach out to Cecil Tanner. This dude is a South Georgia legend plain and simple. When I hollered at him and asked if he wanted to wade into the swampy waters with me, he said what I’ve heard him say a few dozen times since - “yes”. Glad to have this young shooter guiding the whole ship as we slip down the dank alleyways of the vast and beautiful Okefenokee.

This is former Mayor Sam Massell. I got to interview him a few years ago for the Atlanta History Center’s Swan House Ball. It’s always been a pleasure hearing how our city has grown and changed.
