There is a difference between "I made a mistake" and "I am a mistake." One leads to growth. The other keeps you stuck. This is what self-love actually sounds like.

Black woman, when was the last time you allowed yourself to experience joy without guilt?
This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.
Today's letter is: Joy Is Your Birthright.
Somewhere along the way, many Black women were taught that our value lives in what we produce, how much we can endure, and how well we can hold everything together. We became experts at pushing through. We learned how to overfunction. We learned how to keep showing up even when we were tired, overwhelmed, grieving, anxious, or emotionally depleted.
In a world that has often expected Black women to survive more than we should have ever had to survive, joy becomes an act of resistance.Joy disrupts the belief that your value only exists in your labor. Joy reminds you that your life is not just something to endure. It is something you are allowed to experience fully.
