When I got the audition for Nelly, I was getting ready to leave for a job. My first job in a long time. But reading her scene off the page, it felt instinctual. I turned it in the next day and left town. I was so used to doing the best work I could and not hearing back. But the tides were turning and it was my shot to ride the wave.
