Sorrow sneaks up when I least expect it. It’s embedded in photographs, pieces of clothing, a familiar expression on a child’s face. I don’t feel angry with God. He never promised me a life free from suffering. But I believe He’s the security that will keep me from bending until I break.

The opened tonight in Atlanta to one of the most enthusiastic audiences I’ve seen at a show. The production was incredible and I can’t believe how much the lead sounded like Barbra Streisand, who starred in the 1968 movie about the life of F***y Brice, a comedienne and entertainer from the early 1900s.

When I started writing a novel in April 2023, I had no idea it would take more than a year to write or change me so completely. I feel like a different person.

Tonight I finished the first draft on the due date I chose months ago. I pushed through with my highest ever word count in a day (and wrote almost 7K more words than my goal), because we have a family camping trip this weekend and I didn’t want to be too distracted about finishing to be fully present.

My agent became my acquisitions editor (xoxoxo 😘) so I need a new one. And I I’ll need a publisher too. And 2nd & 3rd & however many drafts. But right now I’m celebrating a big WIN!! (Thanks for listening ♥️)
