Did you know that tomorrow, February 27th, is regarded as International Polar Bear Day? It coincides with the time period when polar bear mothers and cubs sleep in their dens. International Polar Bear Day raises awareness about the conservation status of the polar bear. The International Union for Conservation of Nature estimates there are currently about 26,000 polar bears worldwide. But without action on climate change, we could lose all but a few polar bear populations by the end of the century.

As ECO-Action honors Black History Month, we celebrate Faye Bush's remarkable legacy in civil rights and environmental justice. Her leadership continues to inspire future generations!
ECO-Action’s staff continues to compost as part of the work we are doing with Drawdown Georgia. For Year 2 we are increasing our participants from 50 to 100 families. If you live in the Intrenchment Creek and/or Proctor Creek areas and are interested in composting, feel free to call our office at (404) 584-6499.

Did you know that only a small amount of plastic is recycled? Knowing this, we should rethink the materials we use in our daily lives. A few reusable options that are better than the single-use plastic we tend to use are glass, wood and stainless steel.
