BUILDING HEALTHIER FAMILIES THROUGH NUTRITION EDUCATION & FOOD RECOVERY
📸 Please see the attached photos from today's Write-Right Nutrition Program food distribution hosted earlier today at Growth Mindset Wellness PC in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Earlier today, through the generosity of our valued community partners, DFOWW Incorporated recovered and distributed fresh meats, poultry, bakery items, fresh produce, and other nutritious foods that will help strengthen families throughout our community. We extend our sincere appreciation to Nurse Practitioner Tiffany Bates and the entire Growth Mindset Wellness PC team for partnering with us to help carry out our nonprofit mission.
Many people see photographs of donated food, diapers, household goods, and essential products and sometimes assume DFOWW Incorporated operates as an unrestricted public giveaway program.
That is not our mission.
DFOWW Incorporated is not a traditional open public food pantry. Through our Write-Right Nutrition Program, donated products are strategically used to advance our charitable mission by supporting nutrition literacy workshops, registered program participants, approved community distributions, and trusted nonprofit, healthcare, school, faith-based, and community partners who actively collaborate with our organization.
As part of our education-based program model, supplemental food and essential item distributions are generally reserved for:
• Active Write-Right Nutrition Program participants
• Registered workshop attendees
• Families participating in approved DFOWW Incorporated programs
• Trusted nonprofit, healthcare, school, and faith-based community partners
• Approved community distributions based on donation availability, volunteer capacity, funding, and program priorities
This structured approach helps ensure responsible stewardship of donated resources, accountability, fairness, and the long-term sustainability of our nonprofit mission.
Although the donated food and essential products recovered through our community partners are provided to DFOWW Incorporated at no cost, recovering those donations is not free. Every food recovery requires fuel, commercial vehicle insurance, transportation, refrigeration, freezer space, storage, equipment, volunteer coordination, and many hours of dedicated service. DFOWW Incorporated is a small, volunteer-operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that receives no guaranteed government funding for these services.
If you would like to learn more about the Write-Right Nutrition Program, nutrition literacy workshops, supplemental food distribution opportunities, or how you can support our mission through a suggested $20 Program Support Contribution, we encourage you to read our July 2026 Newsletter, which explains our program in greater detail.
Program Support Contributions help sustain nutrition education, food recovery, transportation, commercial vehicle insurance, refrigeration, freezer and storage capacity, volunteer coordination, and community outreach. They are not a payment for donated food.

Every volunteer, community partner, donor, grant, sponsorship, and Program Support Contribution helps DFOWW Incorporated recover more nutritious food, reduce food waste, expand nutrition education, and strengthen families throughout Georgia. Together, we are building healthier families and stronger communities through education, partnership, and responsible stewardship.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Costco, Publix, Growth Mindset Wellness PC, our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners for helping make this work possible.
