Why preserving our legacy matters. ❤️

Our history is more than stories from the past—it is the foundation for future generations.

Every Trinity memory, family tradition, church gathering, school event, photograph, and shared experience helps tell the story of who we are as a community. Preserving our legacy ensures that the lessons, values, and memories that shaped us continue to inspire those who come after us.

The Athens-Limestone Community Association is proud to help preserve and celebrate the stories that connect generations and keep our history alive.

💬 We want to hear from you:

What is one lesson, memory, or tradition from our community that you hope future generations will always remember?

Before it was Trinity High School… it was Trinity School.

A place where formerly enslaved individuals and Black students came to learn, grow, and build a future through education.

This legacy didn’t begin with a building —
it began with a purpose.

From the early days following the war at Fort Henderson…
to generations of students who walked through its doors…

This is history that shaped our community.

And now, we have the opportunity to preserve it.

The ALCA Museum is currently in the works — a future home dedicated to telling the full story of Trinity School and the generations that followed.
