The first special collections department at the University of Georgia was established in 1953 with John Wyatt Bonner as its director. In the years since, the original collection - now the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library - has grown and the Richard B. The Richard Hudson collection is now available on the Digital Library of Georgia!
Donated to Hargrett in 2021, this collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, screenplays, etc. produced by a variety of gay writers, musicians, and other creatives. From 17th century literary works depicting q***r characters to more modern editions that explore human sexuality, this collection explores more than four centuries of published material.

The UGA Athletics in Your Town tour kicked off last week at the Suwanee Library! We enjoyed talking with Dawgs fans and sharing iconic archival material from football, baseball, and other UGA sports.
