SUMMER LEARNING: Students participating in driver education this summer had the opportunity to hear from members of the Limestone County Sheriff's Office this week about the importance of safe and responsible driving.

Deputies shared valuable information about traffic laws, the dangers of impaired driving, and the life-changing consequences that can result from poor decisions behind the wheel.

To reinforce the lesson, students took part in field sobriety activities while wearing impairment simulation goggles, giving them a firsthand look at how alcohol can affect balance, coordination, reaction time, and judgment.

In addition, Kelly Konscol from the University of Alabama's TRIP lab talked about the research that goes into traffic crashes and distracted driving.

Thank you to these two organizations for partnering with our driver education program and helping equip students with the knowledge they need to stay safe on the road.

THANK YOU: The Special Needs Rodeo creates unforgettable experiences and meaningful connections for our students each year. During the final days of school last week, students from our schools made handmade cards for the Limestone County Sheriff's Office as a small way to say thank you for the kindness, patience, and care shown to them throughout the event.

We are grateful for Sheriff McLaughlin, his deputies, and the staff who work so hard to make the event possible each year.
