Passport not required for this wine tasting. 🍷✈️

We’re sipping our way through France, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, California, and beyond in our newest class, Summer Sipping: A Global Wine Journey with resident wine expert Svetlana Rostova.

Think crisp whites, easy summer reds, coastal wines, great stories, cheese + charcuterie pairings, and the kind of bottles you’ll want to bring to every patio dinner this summer.

Swipe to meet Svetlana and hear a little about the experience she’s bringing to the table. 🍇

Two bottles worth knowing. 🍷

We’ve been reaching for these Weninger reds lately—and Courtney, owner of Athens Cooks, just called the 2018 ‘Steiner’ her new favorite. Both are Blaufränkisch, but show it differently. The ‘Kirchholz,’ from old vines on stony, gravel-rich soil, brings more depth and structure. The ‘Steiner,’ grown in Sopron, is a bit more lifted—bright acidity with notes of dark berries and a subtle, spicy finish.

Featuring:
Weninger | 2017 ‘Kirchholz’ Burgenland Blaufränkisch
Weninger | 2018 ‘Steiner’ Sopron Kékfrankos (Courtney’s current favorite)
L’Atelier du Vin | Wine Opener – GEOMETRY (sleek, well-balanced, and made to keep on the counter)

Available in-store and online at athenscooks.com (link in bio).

There’s something about making pasta from scratch that makes you wonder why you ever bought it in a box.

Chef Nathan Altman will walk you through the whole thing—fresh fettuccine dough, a classic pomodoro, and the kind of kitchen confidence that sticks around after class ends. Plus 10% off most in-store items the day of class. Optional wine pairings available.
