Peace At Home

go I reached out to an old bandmate (Deke Spears) who had finally gotten his studio, Magnetic Recording Studios, up and running. Having worked well in the past, I started sharing some songs that were recorded from my cell phone. I had some projects pretty much written and structured which made his job a little easier. We would send ideas back and forth and before we knew it the songs would come to life. Deke being a multi-instrumentalist saved a lot of time and money and we got other friends and musicians involved to perform on this record; These songs would not be what they are today without these talented musicians. This record was inspired by my failures and the journey of becoming at peace with them- For them turning into successes and acknowledging that I am grateful for all of my story, not just the perceived ending or lesson that was drawn from this string of mistakes and transgressions. Life isn’t about the destination or the starting place, but every turn and twist in the road and the nostalgic tourist traps you pull into on the way of becoming the person your lucky to be. It was this journey where I found that peace comes with understanding and acceptance of all of it, not just the parts I was willing to share with the world - thats where this record was born. We can all be so focused on false beliefs about ourselves and fears that drive us farther away from being the best version of ourselves. The fear will eat at you from the inside out until you have nothing left, as if there is some kind of carnivore inside of you. Which is where “Carnivore Kingdom” the name of this record came from. We all have our own demons inside of us and we can either continue to feed it or choose to face it and set it free. Thank you for listening.
