Ashtabula County sees a real opportunity in a proposed gas pipeline project spanning from Lake Erie to the Ohio River. Recently, we joined with other counties in our Lake to River region in sending a letter to Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman urging support for legislation introduced by House Majority Whip Nick Santucci. This legislation would allow our four counties to work together to fully leverage the State Route 11 corridor and a gas pipeline to attract investment, create jobs, and strengthen economic development across our region. There is still work ahead, but this project has the potential to be transformational for Ashtabula County and Eastern Ohio, and we are hopeful the Legislature will support this important effort.
