The Hindu festival that celebrates the beginning of Spring, the cleansing of your inner demons, and a fresh start to everything. It’s celebrated over a period of 3 days.
Day 1: people get together around a large bonfire that signifies the purification of your mind/body and the air 🔥
Day 2: Playful celebration of colors just the way Lord Krishna celebrated with his friends/consorts 🎨
Day 3: A sweet celebration of siblings—think tilaks, tight hugs, and plenty of treats. 🫂🍭
Growing up Holi used to be one of my favorite festivals and over the years, I’ve loved recreating these traditions for my own family. My kitchen is currently smelling like childhood, thanks to my annual tradition of making Gujhiya and Mathri (sweet and savory Indian treats).
Holi brings pure joy to everyone it touches.
