I'm interested in publishing a non-fiction "coffee table" style book about art. It will include a photograph of a particular piece of art, and will have the art title, the artist, a small bio about the artist, and any explanation of the art (if available). But the main body of the page will be a flash-fiction story written by my various author friends, writing whatever the art inspired in them.
This was inspired by a Threads post I read where the original poster asked people to share artwork that showed tired women.
That post got thousands of replies. Some women were tired because of exhaustion (working in a field, doing laundry, kids). Some were depicted sleeping (a nap, nighttime, etc.). Some were tired of a man who appeared to be mansplaining something (yes, even back in the 1700s).
I want the book to feel fun and maybe a little sarcastic, depending on what the writers feel led to produce. Which of these titles speak to you and would make you interested in looking at the book?
The Weight She Carries
The Woman in the Frame
The Art of Being Tired
After the Work Is Done
She's Had Enough
Women Who Have Had It
The Female Gaze: Stories from the Canvas
Painted Women, Imagined Lives

Saturday, July 11, 2026, meet online from 10:30a-12p with ACFW DFW to hear Barbara Britton discuss MONEY AND MARKETING: How Much Money Do You Need?

(meeting room opens at 10a for fellowship)

No matter if you're with a Big Four publisher, small publisher, or indie-published, you—the author—will be key in getting your book discovered and purchased. But what is Discoverability?

Merriam-Webster defines discoverability as “to make known or visible” or “to obtain sight or knowledge of for the first time.”
Barbara will discuss ways to promote your book for free and with money.

Registration on TicketLeap is required to receive meeting link. Information in comments.

Barbara M. Britton not only loves to write about the Bible, she has taught Bible stories for over thirty years.
