thrown elements pottery
Our Story
We have a passion for providing people a comfortable, upbeat and supportive environment to spend quality time creating with one another. Thrown Elements Pottery is a paint your own pottery and wet clay teaching studio.
Bottle forms are one of the most advanced shapes that can be made on the potter's wheel. It needs to be thrown wide enough to create the dramatic belly and then carefully collared in to create that classic narrow neck. The proportions need to be balanced and the curve of the profile needs to be continuous with no major changes in degree. It's a major feat of technical skill, but when you get it right it's so cathartic.
A few of our advanced students have recently challenged themselves with this form and we are so proud of their progress!
