Yesterday after my bus duty, a house was burned down a block from school. Thankfully no one was hurt. But a Somali refugee family (several of my students included) lost everything. You don’t realize how lucky you are until it’s gone or until someone close suffers a loss.

From now until Christmas, I want to do something for the family. I would do a live read aloud with your own children via Zoom or a recorded video that I can make for your elementary aged kids. I would include a signed copy of my book as part of the cost. $20 is what I’m asking. $5 to cover the cost of the book and $15 to go towards the family.
