We were delighted to join the many people raising a toast to firefighter Mitch Lundgaard on what would have been his 44th birthday.

Thank you to the many supporters and generosity of the Lundgaard Love Foundation for the opportunity to share the tremendous impact the Mitch Lundgaard Memorial Scholarship has had on our students at the seventh annual golf outing at High Cliff Golf Course.

We are so grateful for the Lundgaard family’s continued support and commitment to helping future firefighters succeed.

Thanks to the generous contributions from the Lundgaard Love Foundation, 42 students in FVTC’s Fire Protection Technician program have received scholarships totaling $43,400. FVTC Public Safety Training programs continue to be in high demand.

There are about 225 students enrolled in the Fire Protection program. The majority of them will be employed by agencies in the Fox Valley region.

FVTC is proud to help carry on Mitch’s legacy of service through the gift of education. Our students are grateful for this support. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed.

Fox Valley Technical College and Community First Credit Union recently honored five incredible students at the 38th Annual Achievement Against the Odds Awards.

This special event recognizes students who are shining academically while overcoming major life challenges. Through hard work and perseverance, these individuals are well on their way to successful and productive careers!

Recipients include Shelby Jones, Aeronautics – Pilot Training; Julia Lynch, Professional Communications; Nhi Nguyen, Baking and Pastry Management; Haley Slicer, Health Information Technology; and Chadd Wellman, Surgical Technology.

Since 1989, we have proudly celebrated 185 amazing students for their accomplishments. A huge congratulations to this year's five award recipients and all 12 outstanding nominees. You inspire us all! 🎓✨
