While you’re changing your clocks, take a few extra minutes to check the safety devices in your home:

✔️ Check your carbon monoxide (CO) detectors
✔️ Replace batteries if needed

Working smoke and CO detectors provide early warning and can save lives. Taking a few minutes today can help protect your home and your family.

Last night the Town Of Center Fire Department had the opportunity to visit the still relatively new Outagamie County 911 Dispatch Center. It was amazing to say the least. Our firefighters and first responders greatly value the service this group provides, but when you get a behind the scenes look, it really takes the appreciation to a whole new level! Our guide, Sargent Scott Aldrich, did an amazing job and gave us the feeling that his team can handle absolutely any situation calmly and with ease. I believe this work often goes unnoticed and the responders get the credit when a situation is handled appropriately. The truth is, communication centers like this one set the stage and lay the foundational groundwork for each and every situation. Without them, the responders have very little value. Last night Center Fire Department was called to assist Ellington Fire Department for a chimney fire. Please remember to clean your chimney or have it inspected if you can’t do it yourself. The outcome was fairly good under the circumstances, but could’ve been a lot worse.
