Appleton's Oldest House
John Street, the home was moved to its present location at 515 W. Restored by Thomas and Laureen Miller
I loved staying in Appleton’s oldest house. I was lucky to have stayed for a week while playing at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. This home is like being in a Musuem! The bed was comfortable, I loved soaking in the clawfoot tub and I’m obsessed with the wallpaper in the dining room. This house has been restored in such a tasteful way, it was a pleasure. It was extremely clean and has all amenities except dishwasher, which was fine for me! The neighborhood was very quiet and I felt safe as a solo female traveler walking around! I would absolutely stay here again if I find myself back in Appleton!

This Marketplace acquisition will be a welcome addition to Appleton's Oldest House. Elisha Morrow built the home for L.B. and Harriet Leach. Six years later, he built his personal residence in Green Bay. Both homes feature Greek Revival architectural elements.
