The annual PeakFest that celebrates the “Peak of Good Living”! This festival has grown from a small community day in a school parking lot to an event which draws hundreds of vendors and over 15,000 people to the streets of downtown Apex. Our first grant story is a partnership with Citizens Assisting Police in Apex, CAPA, their youth division KAPA and SAFEchild Wake County.
CAPA is building on the success of its KAPA (KIDS Assisting Police in Apex) Comfort Care Kits, a partnership with SAFEchild. Last year, we awarded this program a grant for the launch of this creative initiative to support kids in a time of crisis.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, offering kids comfort and a meaningful distraction during a moment of crisis.
