Our community’s heart is broken with today’s terrible tragedy at The Capital. I am praying for the victims and their families, co-workers, and friends.

You hear of these horrendous incidents happen across the country and never fully realize how close to home one can hit. It happened in our home town - this senseless act of terror happened to outstanding journalism professionals who keep our community informed and our city officials in check with the passion and integrity that makes Annapolis the loving community that we know it to be.

I’m thankful for our courageous first responders who got to the scene in 60 seconds and prevented further devastation.

Alderman Marc Rodriguez, Annapolis attorneys to assist asylum seekers in Texas Rodriguez, alongside local attorneys Polly Peters and Eileen Powers, will make a trip to Dilley, Texas on August 19 to assist people at the South Texas Family Residential Center, the largest family detention center in the United States.
