Hey UK friends…

Photos from Jim Pankey - Banjo's post 06/23/2026

I’ve never been one to measure relationships by dates on a calendar. Honestly, those sort of “holidays” seem disingenuous to me.

I’ve always done things on my own time and in my own way. Let’s face it, if we all do the same thing at the same time how special is it?

Attached here are a couple of pictures of me (on banjo) and my first real bandmate - my dad (on guitar). I figure he’s the reason I stuck with it.

I reckon we played a lot of places. Most were fun. All of it was important. I learned a lot - chiefly timing. Despite what some may think - especially regarding the timing of this post.

See, I wanted to show up fashionably late, just so y’all would see him…

Fun fact? I’m now more than 20 years older than dad in these photos.
