It’s a thing. It’s that time of year when I obsess over chrome and velvets and dimly lit rooms.

Desk lately. A little backstory - I spent my formative years and met my husband in Southern California. Our first date was a windy hike up Mt. Wilson. And we spent many carefree pre-child days driving through canyons and along coastlines - reminiscing of days surfing or working in surf shops, sipping wines and enjoying endless amazing sunsets. We lived together on the beach in Belmont Shore and in the eclectic, winding hills of Los Feliz. California can be as every bit romantic as you hear.
We’ve lived in the Midwest for 12 years now and it felt time to honor the beginning of our life together in this home. It’s kind of becoming our California Cottage away from the coast.
I’ve been obsessed with finding new-to-us furnishings that were reminiscent of that vibe and our memories - earthy, grounding textures, dusty desert landscape colors, and the feeling of the cool breeze and salt in your hair.
Recently, I’ve pulled together the concept for our room - tans, creams, browns, and slate. Baskets, woods, landscapes, and pottery.
