MISSING PERSON – STEVEN WILLIAM BRANSTON

Steven William Branston was just 20 years old when he disappeared in 1996.

Originally from Lakeport, California, Steven told his family he planned to move to Honolulu, Hawaii. His last contact with loved ones was on August 1, 1996.

Investigators later confirmed that Steven arrived in Honolulu on August 5, 1996, where he rented a self-storage unit and opened a bank account. Although his Social Security benefits continued to be deposited, none of the funds were ever withdrawn.

Steven has never been found.

Physical Description:
• Height: 6’0”
• Weight: 170 lbs
• Eyes: Blue
• Hair: Brown, long and typically worn in a curly ponytail

Identifying Feature:
• Surgical scar on right knee

He May Have Been Wearing:
• Tie-dye shirt or black-and-white shirt
• Jeans or cutoff shorts
• Sandals
• Scarf-style headband

Additional Information:
Steven was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was taking Risperdal at the time of his disappearance.

His last confirmed locations include:

* Hy-Pac Self Storage in Honolulu

Over the years, reported sightings have been investigated on Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and Kauai, but none have been confirmed.

Lakeport Police Department, Honolulu Police Department, and other investigators have continued working Steven’s case for decades. His DNA, fingerprints, and dental records remain on file for comparison.
