This was the best Halloween of my life and I knew it in the moment, getting to see the original trio (Lock, Shock, and Barrel) bring these characters back to life at the Hollywood Bowl. Danny, Catherine, and Paul were a once-in-a-lifetime group of creative weirdos. All three have made the world a better place through their art. ❤️

Over the years, I’ve come to realize that I shoot photos as a way of calming my existential dread. I want to hold onto the people I love and the places where memories are made. I’ve even gone back to family homes just to take a photo of a place I’ll never step foot in again.
On Halloween 2020, I somehow lucked out and found myself standing in the dark in the pit at Showcase, trying to time travel my way back to so many memorable nights. For all the years we’ve spent mourning the loss of that home, I knew we still had Chain as our secular house of worship.
I HAVE SO MANY MOMENTS to take me back. I have hard drives full of photos and videos of epic nights, and I’m going to make it a point to share them with everyone so we can always remember where we came from. This week, I printed this one out to keep in my own home. Since I’ve gotten messages asking for prints, I figured I’d put this up for everyone who can’t make it to these last nights.
