I’m excited to announce I’ve been selected to join the Platform Committee of the California Democratic Party. As a delegate and now platform committee member I’ll have a hand in shaping the party’s official positions, on the issues that matter most to us.
 
When I ran for delegate back in March, I promised to focus on climate, affordability, housing, and innovation. That’s exactly what I plan to do in this new role.
 
If you’re tired of hearing people complain about the Democratic Party, then lets help build a platform we can consistently win on. I’m all in and I’d love your ideas!

Solar power in Alaska? With high and unreliable energy costs - solar deployment is increasing across the state. Spent last week in Alaska through a Stanford funded research grant to understand and document the potential of clean energy tax credits. We went to Alaska to collaborate with a tribe we’ve been working with for the past year to identify what works and what doesn't. Hopefully other tribes and tax-exempt entities can learn and replicate. Full report coming out soon! Check out IRAdirectpay.org to learn more.

This is what I see as our most promising shots on goal 🥅 to drive a sustainable, affordable, and prosperous future with Trump. What did I miss?
1. Strong local candidates who got elected in California. California will continue to lead in climate📍
2. Potentially $1 trillion in clean energy tax credits accelerating a cheaper, cleaner, and more resilient grid (I’ve been visiting these project sites recently, and it is remarkable to see the scale of what this country can build) ⚡️
3. Organization and turnout of young voters and volunteers who will make a difference 🗳️
4. The impact of the Department of Energy and EPA this year at getting funding out the door (looking at you LPO, OCED, MESC, and GGRF) 💵
5. The Senate - climate change deniers lost big. Happy to have Sen Baldwin (WI, pictured above), Sen Rosen (NV), Sen Slotkin (MI), and Sen Gellego (AZ) win their tight races 🙌
5. Friends building cool and impactful technology in climate 🧊
6. International opportunity. I led a trip to India to study climate tech and policy in April and was surprised to see the speed at which India is leapfrogging forward in increasing renewables, fighting emissions, and meeting growing electricity demand 🇮🇳

Campaign heads to the coast! Nice change of scenery because in addition to a debate, I was able to go for a hike and help clean up our beautiful California beaches with many wonderful people! Thanks to everyone who came out for making it an amazing weekend!
