Xmas set design.

A music video for the song Melancholia At Infinity by Lost Amid Kin. The video was created with Stable Difusion A.I. and animated with a Google Notebook for latent diffusion models. The final sequence was also upscaled and interpolated from 720 HD at 15 fps to 4K UHD at 30 fps by A.I.

There is a lot of concern about A.I. replacing artists in the near future, but while A.I. can generate amazing images it is not perfect or simple to use. The process of creating this video was time-consuming and more akin to herding a talented but extremely stubborn savant artist. The final product while beautiful it’s still only an interpretation of what was asked from the A.I. and a lot is still lost in translation in the process. While not perfect, as an artist, the process was fun and it was nice to sit back and wait for the outcome for a change.

This is only my first A.I. animation project but I’m sure these tools are here to stay. It’s just a matter of how much A.I. will be integrated into each new project.
