The Chronically Illest

Someone in the diabetes community has chosen to trademark the word “DIABADDIE” on graphic shirts specifically. This hit my hard, not only because I have sold DIABADDIE shirts for the last 4 years, but because I was honestly a fan and offered her one last Summer.

I’ve tried to handle this with Jaden Ashley ♕ directly, but have been unable to get a response. So I turned to my diabaddie friends and am now turning to my community. We believe the word DIABADDIE belongs to the community, so we have chosen to speak out together, as collaborators, friends, and DIABADDIES who all share the term in our work 💗💗💗

Jaden does not have the right to the trademark, and while I have the evidence to prove it, it will cost at least $800 to oppose and her trademark is on track to be published. We have until July 15 to oppose the trademark, but I am choosing to ask Jaden to rescind her application, because I believe that would be a huge waste of money in a time that so many need help.
