American Legion Riders, Chapter 37

A great time was had by all last month at the Shuffleboard tournament! Tim and Colton were the big winners and Rob and Katina finished in second place. Come out next Saturday and join us for more fun!

New officers have been chosen and installed by our Post Commander, Cliff Barker! Congratulations officers!

The Ames Legion Riders, American Legion Department of Iowa Commander, City of Ames Mayor, Arnold Air Society ROTC of Iowa State University and members of our wonderful community came together for the Wreaths Across America ceremony and wreath laying yesterday in sub zero weathers and piles and piles of snow. Thank you all so much for braving the cold, just as our veterans do/have, so that we could Remember our fallen with Veterans Wreaths, Honor those serving, and Teach our youth the value of Freedom.
Our gratitude for this joint effort is beyond words and through the cold, the sun is shining brightly at the “Lest We Forget” monument in Ames, Iowa.

What a wonderful evening with the Ames Legion Riders! We had a sweet corn and sausage feed (thank you Bill, John and Rich -along with our corn shuckers!) with plenty of desserts by Sandy, Kim, Jodi, Doug and your’s truly!

We also received a great donation from Ames Ford for our project to remember and honor our local veterans with Wreaths Across America! Thank you Denny Krogh for this donation from Ames Ford through their car show. Supporting our veterans and their families is our mission! 🇺🇸
