Infant Swimming Resource Iowa
❌❌❌❌
Please avoid floatation devices when exposing your children to water. Children will learn the drowning position using these devices. If they were to fall into water without a floatie or adult supervision, what would happen? Would they float? The answer is sadly, no. This gives them no chance at survival.
There are so many things wrong with the promotion of this product.. putting a child in a floatie like this is not “much safer”. You are not giving them a “superpower” you are giving them a false sense of security- false skills that will only fail them in an emergency.
If swimming were “as natural as walking” there would be zero drownings ever. Child or adult. So many moms & dads would have their precious children back in their arms & their world wouldn’t be utterly destroyed at the loss of a child if that were true.
Self rescue skills can give your child a chance at survival if an emergency were to happen but no child should be left to be “independent in the water”.
Please do your child a favor & give them the CORRECT information they need when it comes to water safety. Anything that puts their body in a vertical position will teach them the drowning position.
